The Tree Fort
Ya, it's for the kids, really.
Made with mostly recycled beams from local fallen barns. Built so that the weight of the whole structure goes down through 12" x 12" beams into the ground and is not hanging from the tree; you could park a tank on it.
I did no heavy lifting making it. I used a chain fall to pull, hoist, spin and move all the heavy stuff. This was an incredibly satisfying project to design and build. We use it all year round.
I've run underground power to it, so now I've got a stereo up there in the summer for some dinner music. There's also a BBQ or two and a Coleman camping stove. It's my cottage.
