It Exists. It is Unique. It is For Sale, for a limited time. See pix below:
The long story:
Occasionally I make pieces on speculation. These pieces are created in small groups or more often, one at a time. They are usually produced after a large project that probably took a long time, and these pieces are usually created during that decompression state, which in the end is also a regenerating time. They are usually smaller and more familiar than the intensive big one-off pieces and they often use up some valuable leftover materials from that last big project, but often with new pairings of woods / colours that have been tugging at me to try.
I keep these pieces in this "in stock" state for a limited time, in my studio where people can come and see them where they were created. They stay here in flux until another small batch of pieces needs the space and then they are pushed from the nest and are taken to galleries that have a need for some replenishing fresh work from me. Sometimes these pieces need to satisfy the needs of the galleries first and they leave here quickly. This situation, before I had kids, felt like selling my children, but now, if this is how it has to happen, I have good pictures of them, and I am comfortable knowing that they are going off to see the world on their own, under the wing of my trusted gallery owners.
So, long story short... ya, I like to have the newborns around for a while before they leave to their eventual home.
Interested in a piece you see? You want it? And there's no shopping cart icon to hit? That's right. My sales are not managed by a computer program; they go through the person who made the piece (as does everything else), and so you should contact me directly, and I will be very, very happy to hear from you, and I will make the process a very positive and appreciative human experience. (How could I not like getting a call from someone who says they like my furniture??)
